Come eat, network, and share your poetry, music, comedy, or monologues at this intimate and unique open mic event. Everybody is welcome!
Cándida is hosting poetry & performance workshops with BLOOM BODIES at Motor City Street Dance Academy in Southwest Detroit every third Sunday from 5-6 pm. This workshop is open to everyone. You can come and practice your work, get constructive feedback, or participate in some writing activities that will help you get started as a writer or remove your writers block!
Join us in the celebration of Cándida’s first published collection of poetry to be released in July, 2019. There will be live performances, great music with special guest DJ Shane T, entertaining hosts Asia & Sparkal, amazing food, and an open bar. Cándida was invited to be the keynote speaker at this event honoring high school seniors at Western International in Detroit that accomplished a GPA of a 3.5 or higher.
Join us at the Detroit Public Library where Candace and the other members of the WISDOM Poetry Collective will be performing a show specially crafted for celebrating Women’s History Month.
If you live in Detroit, join us at The Alley Project in Detroit located at 8869 Avis St, Detroit, MI 48209 where Cándida will be be hosting poetry and performance workshops for middle and high school students every first and third Saturday of each month until June, 2019. After the workshop on each third Saturday, an open mic event will be hosted at TAP Gallery from 6-8 pm for middle and high school students hosted by Cándida and open to the community.
Cándida is the featured artist for this event where students and faculty of Michigan State College of Human Medicine will gather to celebrate the richness that culture contributes to the field of medicine and reflect on how we can utilize diversity as a tool to enrich our experiences as student doctors and health care professionals.
